Protecting your privacy is important to us. The following statements will help you understand how Boxcar collects, uses, and safeguards the personal information you provide.

Please direct any questions or concerns about privacy to

E-mail Notifications - While you may forward all of your e-mail to Boxcar, we only store whom the message is from and the subject of the message. The actual e-mail is discarded in its entirety and is never written to disk at any point.

Twitter Notifications - Boxcar uses OAuth for logging into your Twitter account, and therefore never sees your Twitter username and password. You may revoke our access to Twitter via the 'Connections' tab in your Twitter settings.

Facebook Notifications - Facebook Connect provides Boxcar with access to your Facebook account. Boxcar never sees your Facebook username or password, and will never ask you for it. We use the Facebook provided tokens to access your Facebook account, which may be revoked at anytime by you.

RSS Notifications - Boxcar does not store anything from your subscribed RSS feeds other than the title of the entry and the original URL of the entry.

Provider Notifications - Your e-mail address is never shared with other providers, except in the form of an MD5 hash. This allows the provider to determine whom you are as a unique user, but does not allow them to send you e-mail unless you provide your e-mail address to them yourself. Analytics - Boxcar uses a site analytics gathering tool (Google Analytics) to collect information about visits and visitors. This information is used to improve the content, performance, and interface of our site.

Boxcar Notifications - Notifications collected for you by Boxcar are stored indefinitely by Boxcar. Content of those notifications will never be disclosed to third parties except with your express permission or by order of law.
